Ok yeah its only the second game day of the preseason! But to me there is nothing better! I love the panthers. They are the team! John Fox and company they do it every game day. They might not win every game, but they bring it and they put their souls on the line and play with all their heart and soul. I’d just like to tell them thank you.

17th Annual Carolina Renaissance Festival Returns Saturdays & Sundays
October 9th – November 21st

Ok I got this of f of the offical webpage of the North Carolina Renaissance Faire. The North Carolina Renaissance Faire is staged by Royalfaires and its sister faire is the Arizona Renaissance faire. If you want to go and check out the website… it is this….www.royalfaires.com and click on the north carolina link.

This is one really cool thing that you can do this fall. To me this is what the start of fall is…. It’s a multiseneory event. All of your senses will be treated to the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the renaissance. The faire takes place outside of Huntersville North Carolina in this huge wooded field…. There are quiet a few acres involved 22 acres to be precise. The parking is free thanks to I think the Harris Teeter Grocery store and this year admission is $19.00. Something new that they have started is providing season passes and they are costly, but worth it. they range in price from $120 to $55.00 .” The Carolina Renaissance Festival, a combination of outdoor theater, circus, arts and crafts fair, jousting tournament and feast.” Quoted from their offcal website.

All of the buildings on the grounds of the renaissance faire are permanant. This is one part of how special the faire is and how come it is so magical.

The joust is one my favorite part of the Renaissance faire and it is the most dangerous…. I will admit that Dexter trip’s act is also dangerous walking up a tight rope that is on fire….

There are a lot of different entertainment offerings besides just the joust…. And some are returning favorites. Don Jaun and Miugel, Hey Nunny Nunny, Dead Bob and the Tortuga Twins….Just to name a few. Did I mention the food? Oh I didn’t? Well let me do so now…. The food at the North Carolina Renissance Faire is wow! Yummy First Class fair.

Ok you can get a cappuchino at the Cappuchino Inn….. But you must by all means get a huge smoked turkey leg. You have to eat it without a fork and utensils and the juice just dripping down your face and it gets all over your fingers and then you must spend 1/2 hours in the privy trying to get cleaned up, but the turkey leg is so delicious that the true brave at heart gets a second one later in the after noon. Talk about a gastric nightmare, but oh so good whilest you are eating it. Oh and to top your gastronomic journey…… you must stop by the Fudge Shoppe and get a Candy apple…..They are honking huge!

Since there is so much to see, do and participate in you must plan to go to the renaissance faire and spend the whole day. It goes on Rain or Shine…..

Well will I see you at the faire? Huzzah!

This idea was given to me by my friend Adam. I think I am going to use my blog to showcase my photography. I am an amature photographer and I love it. I do not have any fancy equipement. All I have is a Kodak Easy share camera. I am not even sure of the megapixals it has.

My Trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina

If you have never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and you live in the state of North Carolina then you ought to be ashamed and then say to yourself…. What is keeping me from visiting? I personally think that as a native of North Carolina every one must try to make it a priority to go and see one of the greatest treasures of the natural world. The Outer Banks especially the out lying barrier islands are so fragile and beautiful and you wonder how in the world that it can sustain life, but it does. I found it really hard to get used to having the Sound on one side of me while on the other side was the Atlantic Ocean. I also enjoyed the marshes and the diversity of life found in each area that I visited… The ocean, the marshlands and the sound.

When you are a young child in the public education system in North Carolina you learn about the state that you call home and you learn about places like Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Cape Fear River etc…. But until you can actually go and visit these places and see them for yourself… they seem just one-dimensional . That’s how I felt about my trip to the Outer Banks.

It was a spiritual thing or feeling that washed over me when I got to the Hatteras Lighthouse. It was like….so much energy and history that the walls of the lighthouse held and when you touched the walls it pulsed through you like a shock you get from static energy. I also had another of those serendipitous moments when I went out to Shackleford Island with my cousins on their skiff and saw three of the wild ponies.

I did not make it up to Nags Head and where the Wright Brothers Monument was, but I could not do every thing in the 4 days dad and I had for the vacation.

But I think out of all the different souvenirs I got from this trip… the best one was that I got a better understanding of the state that I call home and a better appreciation of it.
